Unfortunately, community colleges don't always get the kind of respect that they deserve. They seem to fall short when compared to the more prestigious four year schools. So why would you still want to consider a community college education?

With the high cost of higher education it is good to know that community college courses are quite a bit less expensive than a traditional school or university's courses. 2. Flexible Admissions
Most community education colleges have what is called rolling admissions. This is where you can register and be admitted during any semester of the school year, and in the summer if courses are available. They usually even accept last minute admissions, if you have all your paperwork in order.
3. Helpful Courses
Most of these schools also offer some remedial courses such as pre algebra, English, and writing and grammar. These are helpful if you have not been in school for a long time, or if you didn't do that great in high- school. Most four year universities and colleges don't offer these types of courses and they usually have a minimum GPA requirement to be admitted.
4. No Entrance Exam Required
If you never got around to taking the SAT or ACT exam or you just didn't score well on them, it's okay. These are not requirements for being admitted to most need them to get into most any community school. The quality of a community college education is comparable to what you would receive at a four year college or university. The professors have to meet high standards to be able to teach the classes. These professors have real life experience in their field, actually, some are even professionals themselves, still working in the field they are teaching in, most work part time and teach part time.

Find out what courses are available in your field of choice. These schools offer a wide variety of degree programs. They keep up with the times, adding and cutting out courses to properly prepare you for the workplace. You will get hands on, real life experience that you can take into the job market.
8. Extra-curricular Opportunities
Many different sports are available at these schools. This helps in building teamwork and the ability to multi task. They offer a variety of different athletic teams and usually have top of the line sports facilities. Some will even offer sports scholarships.
If you are still unsure about attending a community college, please realize that many very successful people started out at these schools. If you do decide later to transfer to a university or a four year college, your credits will transfer and the name of the school where you earned your bachelor's degree will be on your diploma.
