The college application process can be a little unnerving. Sometimes it is difficult to know for sure what the program you are applying for is expecting from applicants.
There are some online schools that have a very relaxed process of admissions, basically anyone who has a high school diploma or the equivalent is accepted. However, other programs, especially degree programs or a graduate school program are more selective and have certain criteria you must meet to be accepted.

A good academic record
Colleges want to know that you will be successful in their programs. Those who had high GPA's in high school and college classes show a lot of promise in this area. They will sometimes overlook your lower GPA if you have demonstrated your other strengths.
Impressive test scores

Some programs will require one or more college admission letter with their colleges application. These are letters of recommendation from someone who knows you well. This could be from a teacher, coach, ministry leader, or a boss. Admissions officials often ask for these because they want to know what others see in you. When deciding on who to ask for a letter of recommendation, choose someone who knows you very well. If you are unsure if a person will give you a good recommendation, don't ask them.
