How To Write A College Admission Letter?

A college admission letter, also known as a letter of recommendation is commonly used during the college admissions process. This is a written reference that gives the school information about who you are, your character and your work ethics.

There are some graduate schools that require you to provide at least two letters of recommendation to be considered for admission to their program.

Here are three things you should make sure are included in your college application letter:

1. An explanation of how the writer knows you and what the nature of their relationship is to you.

2. Specific examples of your abilities, accomplishments and qualities.

3. An explanation of why they are recommending you.

College application letters can be obtained from anyone that knows you well and is willing to write it for you. This could be a teacher, counselor, boss, coach or ministry leader. However, don't send it with your college application if it has grammar, punctuation or spelling errors or if it is not professional. Here is a sample recommendation letter:

To whom it may concern:

Jan Jones would be a wonderful asset to your program. I would highly recommend her for admission to your school. I am Jan's Spanish Professor, and I have seen firsthand her talents and abilities. She is a hard worker and her work ethic is spotless.

Jan is very detail oriented and organized. She can successfully multi-task and meet deadlines without issue. For her class project this year, she worked as part of a team to translate a book into the Spanish language. Jan was the project manager and her abilities and leadership qualities were an integral part of the success of the project. She is well respected and liked by her peers and teammates.

Jan has also had quite an exceptional academic performance throughout her high school career. She graduated with honors and is in the top 10 of her class of 257.

If you are looking for high quality students who will have a positive impact on your school and community, Jan would be a good choice. She is always willing to rise to a challenge and succeed.

In conclusion, I would give my strong recommendation that Jan Jones be admitted into your undergraduate program. If you have questions about Jan or my recommendation of her, please feel free to contact me.

Thank You,

Mr. Spanish Professor
